About Ring of Fire Cards

The classic British drinking game, as played at uni—and now the official illustrated deck.
The original hand-written Ring of Fire rules, burned and stained
The original Ring of Fire rulesheet, written (and burned, and spilled on) at university.

These rules were handed down to our student house in the late 2000s—origin unknown and lost to history, but already legendary. They survived pre-drinks, all-nighters, flat parties, lost weekends, and at least one near-kitchen fire (hence the burn marks).

This battered sheet made the rounds from house to house, always resurfacing no matter how many times it vanished behind the fridge. Friends copied them, scratched out rules, added new ones, and dreamed up wild punishments for anyone brave (or foolish) enough to challenge the order.

Ring of Fire Cards is our way of bottling that spirit. The “official” deck is built from these time-honoured, slightly chaotic, always hilarious student traditions. If you played it back then—or you’re just getting started—you’re part of the story. Cheers!
